One step removed: their uncle played in the NBA. A more tenuous link, so they sit outside the rankings.

Nepo Score is out of 100. Level is worth 60 points: Box Plus/Minus (BPM) over a player's two most recent seasons, weighted by minutes. 0 is league average, −2.0 earns nothing and +8.0 earns all 60. Under 500 minutes, Level is pulled toward −2.0, so a rookie's first weeks count for less. Career is worth 40 points: total Win Shares on a square root scale, so a player's first seasons count the most and 150 earns all 40.

The comparison scores each father the same way, using only what he had done by his son's age this season. Same year in the league uses his first seasons instead, as many as his son has played, so a son's rookie season meets his father's whatever their ages. Seasons without an NBA game are not counted. A father who had finished by that point keeps his final numbers. By age, one who had not reached the NBA has nothing to compare. A score of 0.0 is a real career that earned no points: Level at or below −2.0 and no Win Shares above 0. Gap is the son's score minus his father's. Family is out of 100 and takes each man's best Nepo Score at any age, then their geometric mean, so it is only high when both did well. The chart's cross sits at league average and 20 Win Shares.
